A wise teacher took his apprentice to a park at the bottom of a wooded hill. There was a maze in the park with high and smooth walls that were illuminated by the sun's rays.

The teacher accompanied the student to the entrance and asked him to find the exit himself. He wandered in the maze all day and all night, but his efforts were in vain. He was in a dead end. He was desperately trying to find a way out. Finally, exhausted, he sat on the ground and fell asleep.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the teacher in front of him.
"Follow me," the teacher told him.
They came out of the labyrinth and without turning, the teacher went into the forest. When they reached the highest point of the hill, he pointed out to his student:
"Look down!"

The whole maze could be seen from where they were.
"Looking from here, can you find the exit from the maze?" - the teacher asked.
"Yes, and easily," said the student. "I just have to watch it closely for a while."
"All right, find it then and remember it well," said the teacher.

Then they walked back through the forest. The student re-entered the maze, but this time he found the way out very quickly, without getting lost once.
"The lesson you have just received is one of the most important secrets of the art of living," said the wise teacher, meeting him at the exit.

"The further you move away from a situation and look at it from above, the clearer you will see it. This way you will be able to find the way out of it much faster and easier."
